One these pages, I have chronicled the building of a remote-controll, lfe-size R2-D2 astromech droid as featured in the STAR WARS films.

Using advice and information from Astromech.net and the R2 Builder's Club (Yahoo Group and Forum), I havae built a near-exact replica of the droid, R2-D2.

You can view the history of my build. Visit my R2-D2 gallery to view photos of my build photos. I've also posted a checklist of the parts I need for the build.

Now, let me just state a few things...

  • I am not a professional prop maker. This R2-D2 is the largest project I've taken on so far and I've probably made a few "Rookie" mistakes.
  • No, I will not build a droid for you. I can barely build one for myself.
  • Yes, I will try to answer questions about mistakes I've made in the building process so you won't make the same mistakes in your build-up.
  • No, I won't answer questions about parts and where I got them. That's what the Yahoo Group and Forums are for. :)
